What you’ll experience
A walking tour through central Oslo, covering the city’s history from its medieval origins to today. We’ll visit key landmarks and I’ll share stories about Norwegian culture, politics, and daily life along the way.
We meet at the tiger statue outside Oslo Central Station – a popular meeting point and a symbol of the city since 2000.
From here, we walk along Karl Johans gate, Oslo’s main street, passing by the Parliament building, the National Theatre, the University, and more historic sites. The guide will share stories about Norwegian history, from the union with Denmark and Sweden to independence in 1905 and modern Norway today.
We’ll visit Akershus Fortress, the Opera House, Kvadraturen, and Grünerløkka. At each stop, the guide will explain the significance of the place and how it fits into Oslo’s development from a small medieval town to the capital it is today.
The tour ends at Aker Brygge or at the Opera House, from where you can easily continue exploring on your own or return to the city centre.
