Hike Oslo is a Norwegian tour operator offering guided walking tours in and around Oslo. These terms are governed by Norwegian law, including the Norwegian Consumer Purchase Act (forbrukerkjøpsloven) and the Right of Withdrawal Act (angrerettloven), where applicable.

2. Booking and Payment

Tours are booked through our website using the Bokun booking platform. Payment is processed securely via Stripe. We accept major credit and debit cards.

A booking is confirmed once payment has been processed and you have received a confirmation email. The confirmation email serves as your receipt and includes all relevant tour details.

All prices on the website are listed in Norwegian kroner (NOK) and include VAT where applicable. The price shown on the tour page is the total price per person — there are no additional fees at checkout.

3. Right of Withdrawal

Under the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act, you have the right to cancel a purchase of services within 14 days of booking without giving a reason, provided the service has not yet been performed.

However, if the tour date falls within the 14-day withdrawal period and you have given explicit consent for the service to begin before the withdrawal period expires, the right of withdrawal may be limited or lost upon performance of the service.

To exercise your right of withdrawal, contact us by email before the withdrawal period expires. We will refund the full amount within 14 days of receiving your cancellation.

4. Cancellation by the Guest

In addition to the statutory right of withdrawal, we offer the following cancellation policy:

More than 48 hours before the tour: Full refund.

Less than 48 hours before the tour: No refund. You may transfer your booking to another person at no additional cost, provided you notify us before the tour starts.

No-show: No refund.

To cancel, send an email to atlas.contact15@gmail.com. Cancellations are effective from the time the email is received.

5. Cancellation or Changes by Hike Oslo

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a tour if:

  • Weather conditions or trail conditions make the tour unsafe (storms, ice warnings, flooding, extreme cold).
  • Unforeseen circumstances make it impossible to deliver the tour as described.

If we cancel a tour, you will be offered the choice of rescheduling to another available date at no extra cost, or a full refund.

We will notify you as early as possible, and no later than 24 hours before the tour start time.

6. Tour Description and What’s Included

Each tour page describes what is included in the price. This typically covers the guide, any equipment specified (e.g. snowshoes, ice spikes, torches), and transport where stated.

Items not listed under “What’s included” are not covered by the tour price. This may include meals (unless specified), personal insurance, transport to the meeting point (unless specified), and gratuities.

We reserve the right to make minor adjustments to tour routes or itineraries due to weather, trail conditions, or group needs. The core experience described on the tour page will remain the same.

7. Guest Responsibilities

By booking a tour, you confirm that:

  • You meet the fitness requirements described on the tour page.
  • You have disclosed any medical conditions, injuries, or accessibility needs that may affect your participation.
  • You will arrive at the meeting point at the stated time, dressed and equipped as recommended.
  • You will follow the guide’s instructions regarding safety, trail behaviour, and group management.

The guide reserves the right to exclude a participant from a tour if their condition, behaviour, or equipment poses a safety risk to themselves or the group. In such cases, no refund will be given.

8. Health and Safety

Our tours take place outdoors on forest trails, mountain paths, city streets, and other terrain that may be uneven, slippery, or exposed to weather. Participation involves inherent risks associated with outdoor activities.

We take all reasonable measures to ensure the safety of our guests, including risk assessment, route planning, and guide training. However, participation is at your own risk. We recommend that all guests have travel and health insurance that covers outdoor activities in Norway.

9. Children and Minors

Minimum age requirements are listed on individual tour pages. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times during the tour. The accompanying adult is responsible for the child’s safety, behaviour, and fitness for the activity.

10. Photography and Media

Our guides may take photographs during tours for use on our website, social media, and marketing materials. If you do not wish to be photographed, please let the guide know at the start of the tour.

You are welcome to take photographs and videos during the tour for personal use.

11. Liability

Hike Oslo is liable for direct losses caused by our negligence or failure to deliver the tour as described, in accordance with Norwegian law.

We are not liable for:

  • Losses caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control (force majeure), including but not limited to severe weather, natural disasters, pandemics, strikes, or government restrictions.
  • Losses arising from the guest’s failure to follow safety instructions, meet fitness requirements, or bring appropriate clothing and equipment.
  • Loss of or damage to personal belongings during the tour.
  • Indirect or consequential losses, including lost travel expenses, accommodation costs, or missed connections.

12. Complaints

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your tour, please raise the issue with the guide during the tour so we can address it on the spot. If the matter is not resolved, you may submit a written complaint by email to atlas.contact15@gmail.com within a reasonable time after the tour.

We will respond to complaints within 14 days. If we cannot resolve the matter directly, you may contact Forbrukerrådet (the Norwegian Consumer Council) for assistance or mediation.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Any disputes that cannot be resolved through direct communication or mediation through Forbrukerrådet shall be settled by the Norwegian courts, with Oslo District Court (Oslo tingrett) as the agreed legal venue.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your booking applies to your purchase. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of this page.
