Holmenkollen Ski Jump Walk

What you’ll experience

A walk through the forest above Oslo, ending at the famous Holmenkollen ski jump. Along the way, we’ll pass a small lake, the historic Frognerseteren restaurant, and enjoy views across the city and fjord.

We meet at the tiger statue outside Oslo Central Station and take the metro to Voksenkollen, one of the highest stations in Oslo. The ride takes about 35 minutes.

From Voksenkollen, we walk through the forest past Øvresetertjern – a small lake where locals come to swim, fish, and barbecue in summer. We continue downhill, passing the rose garden at Frognerseteren and stopping at the historic Frognerseteren restaurant, which has one of the best views in Oslo. From here, you can see the entire city, the fjord, and the islands beyond.

We then walk down to Holmenkollen ski jump – one of the most famous ski jumping arenas in the world and a landmark of Norwegian skiing culture. The arena hosted events during the 1952 Winter Olympics and the 2011 World Championships.

From Holmenkollen, we take the metro back to the city centre.

HikeOslo gave us an unforgettable adventure. Small group hikes, knowledgeable guides, and incredible views at every stop. Watching the Northern Lights after a long hike was something I’ll never forget.
