What you’ll experience
A peaceful evening walk through the winter forest, ending with a campfire on a frozen lake. This private tour is ideal for families or small groups looking for a quiet, atmospheric winter experience.
We meet at the tiger statue outside Oslo Central Station and take the metro together to Voksenkollen – a 36-minute ride that takes us from the city centre into the forested hills above Oslo.
From the station, we walk uphill for a short stretch before descending into the forest. Our destination is Øvresetertjern, a small lake that freezes solid in winter. We’ll cross the frozen lake and continue into the quiet woodland beyond, walking through snow-covered trails surrounded by frosty trees.
After a while, we make our way back to the lake, where I’ll have a campfire ready. We’ll sit together by the fire, and I’ll serve hot chocolate and traditional Norwegian snacks while we enjoy the stillness of the winter night. This is what Norwegians call “koselig” – a feeling of warmth and cosiness that’s hard to translate but easy to experience.
When we’re ready, we walk back to Voksenkollen station and take the metro back to the city centre.
This is a private tour – just you and your group.
